design development

The experimentations led me to research more on the stylistic choices I wanted to pursue. As I wanted to continue with this sense of ghosting/crime/darkness/curiousity /paranoia, I went back to film research. The genre of film noir typically reflects the hard realities of a society, confronting an issue as not being purely good or purely evil, but as a product of circumstance/happenstance. Visually, this is represented through the very heavy contrast of light and dark (chiaroscuro) - or good and evil - and how the characters involved exist in both realms.

Started by mapping out how the folding forms might look in the space after proposing my renovations to the space. My new proposed programme for the space is to have a foyer/social/public area for anyone to come in and see the forms and use them how they like. Upstairs is to be a more exclusive space for paying visitors. The forms act as a gallery space for art to be displayed and for viewers to have a unique viewing experience. I've proposed removing the third floor to create more space - a hierarchy for the people upstairs to feel less claustrophobic.
